Okay, so my Cinq (SX '97) is literally gushing water out of the bottom whenever the engine is turned on, I've been told by a family friend that it's coming directly from the water pump. I've uploaded some pictures to give an indictation as to whereabouts the leak is coming from as right now it's raining and I don't really wanna get soaked for the sake of a photograph If what I think is the water pump actually is, it seems to be leaking from the underside of it, quite profusely. In order to get home 4 miles I think we used about 6/7 litres of water.

Second terrible picture, the water is coming from directly under the 'black thing'.

What pictures would they be then?

Water pump is on front of engine, low down offside(UK) driven by belt.

It is attached to the block, the gasket between the pump and block could have failed.

tow it to a garage. get it examined. DO NOT leeve it running for more than 5 mins. Mostly going to be a split water coolant pipe, shuddnt cost much to put right.

I've booked it in with a mechanic, he happens to be a mate of mine. However, I don't have the means/money to tow it there. Am I okay driving it there, but stopping to fill up with water every two miles or so? :S
