Im currently building a race car using a Cinquecento. It has the 899cc engine using the IAW 16F ECU.

So iv cut everything i dont need off the loom, leaving everything coming off the ECU,and iv got the key code box with them wires, so i put what i have left in place plugged all the sensors back in and im left with about 5-8 wires that just have loose ends that have some from inside the cabin of the car, so i guess these connect up to the Key code box, lives, earths, etc...

So what im getting at is does anyone have a wiring diagram for the IAW 16f ecu?

Any help on this really would be great.

hi. does this help :)

information taken from the 16F ECU Technical Information Document.

Code:
Number Description Component / Function Notes
1 Output Ignition Coil 1 Cylinders 1+4
2 Output Idle Control Stepper Motor Phase B
3 Output Idle Control Stepper Motor Phase D
4 Output Central Power Relay (Power-Latch) Power to RAM
5 Input Automatic Gearbox ECU input Only on Version CA
6 Output ECU Warning Lamp Activated on -Vbatt
7 Input / Output Immobilizer (If Present, otherwise NC) Bidirectional
8 Input Air Conditioner Relay on (+) Activated on +Vbatt
9 NC Not Connected Not Connected
10 Input Serial Line L Unidirectional line (FLT->ECU)
11 Input TDC / RPM Sensor Signal Negative

14 Output Sensor +5v Line 5 volt DC
15 Output Serial Line K Bidirectional line (FLT->ECU)
16 Power Signal Grounds In Wiring Loom
17 Power Primary Ground Engine Ground
18 Output Fuel Injector Controls SPi Unit
19 Output Ignition Coil 2 Cylinders 2+3
20 Output Idle Control Stepper Motor Phase A
21 Output Idle Control Stepper Motor Phase C
22 Output Charcoal Canister Multifunction Valve
23 Output Engine Speed Limiting (Fuel Pump) Relay Fuel Pump / Injector / Canister / Coils / Lambda
24 Output Air Conditioner Relay on (-) Activated on Gnd
25 NC Not Connected Not Connected
26 Input Ignition in "On" Position

and then matching it up with me ripping my old loom apart;

Code:

Thanks for posting that up, so i take it the top one is for the 16F? and whats the other one?

Ill bring my laptop to my worshop tomorrow and have a look and see if any of them match up.

Thanks for the help, if one of them is right it will sort me out big time (y)

Oh also does anyone have a diagram for the wires that come off the back off the ignition (about 8 wires) and the wires that come off the key code box?

the top one is what the 16F technical document states, and the bottom one is what i learnt whilst pulling the wiring loom to bits and fitting a megasquirt ECU on my car.

you can actually do away with the imobilser etc with a mckrich chip.

Thanks again, ah makes sense now iv had a look at it again really helpfull information.

Only thing i cant understand is why are there no lives going to the ECU? Also where is the link between the key code box and the ecu?

Yea i did find that i could put a chip in the ECU to get rid of the key code box, but as i have it already i thought i might aswell save the money and just use that...

np :)

the link is pin 7 i think

power is from pin35. its missing from my listing as i ripped out the main relay and so used power from else where to power my ECU.

do you have the main relay (in a white box) as well.

i found this i posted elsewhere, cant remember the context though;

ign live > orange
live > red
grounds > black
Orange wire goes live when the ignition is switched on. Red wire is fed from the battery / loom. Origonally the red wire had the main fuses and fuel injection relay etc on it, but i don't need them so have removed them. If you are leaving them on, then you need the wire that goes to pin35 of the stock ECU which is brown with a white stripe.

a flick through this thread; https://www.fiatforum.com/cinquecento-seicento/88873-megasquirt.html may help too

Ah didnt see the first wiring explination could scroll down further :stupid:

As for a main relay in a while box, i defo dont have this...

The only relays i had in my loom was the ones under the steering wheel, which i thought were all for the lights, etc...

Then i have two in the engine bay just behind the ECU that i havent even looked at yet, they have a black plastic cover over them, ill pull the cover off tomorrow and see if theres a white box under there.

Also from pin 7 this is just one wire going to the key code reader, but iv got loads of wires coming out my key code box...

If the key code box is going to cause me problems where can i buy one of the chips that voids the need for the key code?

Ah might be a problem here, not sure... but i just looking at the link you posted thats for a FIRE engine and im using the 899cc OHV engine... but it has a 16F ECU...

PHEW!!! was getting all exited thinking i was going to be able to make some progress then though dam maybe not, but hopefully things will be all good :D

Wow if you could scan in a copy of the wiring diagram that would be amazing and im sure would be a massive help getting things talking between the ignition, the key code box and ECU.

Cheers for the linky if i cant get it all working ill defonately be ording one of those chips, to save all the messing around that might come up.

Once again thank you so much, you have been a massive help to me.
