General red key help

right got a problem with my cinque,i installed a push start to my car as the key wouldnt start it due to a few probs,i sorted that out and it starteed with push and key,i had a fuse go so i changed it and a couple of other ones.went to start but nothing.will this be anything to do with the red key can i reset it?

What exactly did you do when you installed a push button start? Do you have a separate ignition switch, or do you still have to turn the key to ignition and then press the start button?

Do you hear the fuel pump working when you turn on the ignition (before trying to crank it)?
Does the engine turn over?

i have to turn the key first then press the buton.what does the red key do shall i try it?

When you turn the key, before you press the start button, do you hear the fuel pump humming at the back of the car for a second or two?

And when you press the button, the engine turns over, but won't start?
Does it struggle to start or just turns over pointlessly?

I've never need to use the red key in all my years of Fiat ownership if the code light on the dash goes out after a few seconds then that isn't your problem

no it starts with the push start,but it strugged to start the other day so want to get it back to the key just in case.

Battery or earth problem.

brand new battery dont no about the earth,when put key in the key light comes on then goes off

if you hear the pump prime, and the code light is not staying on then the key is not the issue.

Use the single jump lead to check earth.

Make sure battery connections are very tight.

the problem happend when i removed a fuse,it reset everything the clock cdplayer ect...

But now you can start the engine just fine?
If it isn't broken, don't fix it

I'd suspect the ignition barrel is faulty, but never had experience with that, maybe someone more experienced will be of more help. Did it stop working on its own or did you do something that caused it?
