Titch, the Younger Mrs S'. Cinquecento has been plagued by washer bottle hassles.

> First of all a tube cam away from the motor (re-fitted)

> Then a tube to the other motor split... (sorted with new tube)

> Then a washer motor started leaking (fitted a new one off a Ducato van..)

Then after weeks of perfect operation... ... this weekend the motors "packed up" altogether.

The front one doesn't work from the stalk and the rear one doesn't work from the button (though the wiper does it's little shuffle) so I suspect that the motors themselves, the pipework and the switches are NOT to blame.

There's no noise or sound of whirring (and there IS fluid in the tank) ergo.. I think the problem is a relay or fuse.

Fuses look good (under the dash). Does anyone know where the relay is?

Or can it be anything else? For both the front and rear to be both affected in the same way... no sound/operation when I press/pull either switch .. suggests there is a common item which has failed.

i've got the same problem, but the back one sometimes works, i haven't had chance to get mine up ramps and have a poke around yet though, will probs be able to tomorrow :)

Check the earths.

Try two wires to the motor connectors 12v and earth. If the motor is kaput breakers, or generic from halfords and instant gasket.

The last problem was partly down to the connectors on the wiring plug only being connected to green residue, no wire left.

Aye! But I think for both washers to stop working at the same time.. it suggests that the failure is in a "common" part. It's very unlikely that both switches, motors or circuits would both pack up at the same time.

Is the beasts leashed together by the same relay or something and where does it live?

i've sorted mine, just removed the wheel and cover then removed the two connectors to the two pumps, sprayed WD40 on the socket and the pins and good as new! works fine. i did clean up the earths aswell as they were slightly corroded.

Ah! That's more like it.

I'll have a nose for the common earth thing at the motors end.

The beast was fine a few weeks ago (MOT) so it must be something trivial. The front motor is a new Fiat jobbie and the rear has never given me any trouble. I didn't see toooo much corrosion last time but I guess after a split pipe, disconnected pipe, a leaking motor and a blocked jet .. the washers didn't have many ways left to fail. :D
