its a seicento sporting t reg

ive tried bumping it.
filling it up with petrol
changed spark plugs
tried the jump leads ..
cleaned all the ht leads

what else can be wrong with ....

Is it 'kicking' as though it wants to start?

Is the injection light staying on?

Does the fuel pump buzz for a couple of seconds when you turn the ignition on but don't start it?

Was it running ok before, has anything been done recently?

yeah has been running fine always started first time

Coils might have gone? Also check that buzzing noise from under your rear seats when you first turn ya ignition on its the fuel pump priming. If no buzz then it aint getting fuel

What about the fuel cut off under the dash?

cheers for the replys men ill try it 2 night

got the car started last night
then it kept cutting out after about 10 meters driving it
but if i kept the reving goin for about 30 sec without moving the car the revs would settle down and the car would be fine, also be fine to turn the car off and turn straight back on ..

but this morning car wouldnt start anfter sitting on the drive over night


right some thing is defo wrong some where...

when i put the key in.
im getting that buzzing so it aint that
the code for imboliser is coming on then goin off like it should.
the injection light is coming on then goin off like it should

carnt see the fuel cut off switch??
but dont think its that..

map sensor dead?

Obviously my previous suggestion was rubbish then!

Eh, check MAP as Arc said, eh hopefully it isn't an ECU fault.

i aint really up to scratch with my seciento engine yet so not sure where map sensor is???

can anyone post o pic up showing where it is???

is there a plug in system with fiat that you can plug in to check your ecu ..

i have one of these for my cupra r

some one on the thread metioned that the coils could have gone where are these???

can you reset the ecu/ map sensor by disconnecting the battery and leaving it for 5 mins???

give it 20 mins. or an hour to be sure

Mine did exactly the same, after being fobbed off with "The fuel pump relay shuts down the whole ignition system" by the garage, it turned out to be a bad connection on the crank position sensor and only needed a drop of WD40

no, it's quite a complex procedure described in the Haynes manual. Afraid it's a bit more than disconnecting the battery.

car is working..........

i disconnected the battery
gave all the sensors and coils a gentle tap..

left it for half hour

and started first time..

just drove 30miles to work in it and not a problem
