Hey Peeps,

Don't know if anyone else experenices this, when giving the gas pedal a bit of push in first then quickly change to second, i get a slight cruch when going into second gear. What could cause this :D?

Change gearbox oil ?
New clutch time?
Adjust cable?

P.S - Under normal driving, everything works as normal with no cruchy sound!

Thanks
Ming

worn synchro cones
impatience
clutch adjusting
too heavy or cold oil

any combination off

rebuilding box expensive... try being more deliberate.

i've got that whit my 3the gear... from 2 to 3the and from 4the to 3the... :D but i don't care, it not so expensive and the car still drive :slayer:

yes me too from second into third but only slightly, a couple of tips change up slower through the gears and gently accelerate at the same time also if u have a close ratio gearbox as i do change from second to forth and third to fifth, saves on the gearchanges and keeps the revs down and helps wear and tear on the box???.

i have this probelm, if your gentle its fine, but i found if you change at lower revs its ok.. still when it gets really bad the syncro will need to be looked at.

3rd gear synchro is worn on mine, it doesnt crunch when shifting from 2nd to 3rd, but you can feel it's not 100% right. am just gonna replace the box

mine is just a worn synchro, double de-clutch elimnates the small grate feeling through the stick, that box is nearing 125k tho, and has had various engines in various states of tune on it. am picking up a box off aaron, and i know that theres no viable way to fix my box.. so makes sense to swap it, i don't view it as a tricky job.

Well the 2nd gear synchro has a hard life because of the gap between 1st and 2nd, double declutching is even slower than giving the synchro some time.
Using thinner oil helps, but even with the best synthetic a worn box needs time. If it is a hill climb crunch a gear, if you are getting to work leave earlier.

my 2nd gear syncro has been gone for ages, box has been on over three cars now, all got a good ragging:devil: not bothered as its always been crap and it was a quick replacement for the 6speed with a nakered diff.
