Lightbulb Y10 engine

Anyone done or know of a cinq with Lancia Y10 turbo conversion?

How easy is it, cos it looks to me like engine is straight swap?

What about gearbox, does sporting box fit or will i need to use y10 box?

Any other major problems with this conversion into sporting?

Anyone got engine for sale, cos i hear theyre like rocking horse poop.

Re: Y10 engine

To be honest it's not worth the hassle.

I have a Y10 Turbo and the parts are as near as impossible to get hold of despite me knowing most people on the Y10 circuit so to speak as well as knowing a few people in Italy.

In all honesty i would say do the 1242 swap instead.

But if you want some contacts drop me a P.M an i'll sort it out.

Re: Y10 engine

The Engine that the Y10 turbo uses is unfortunately different to all the other FIRE engines in Uno's Panda's other Y10's etc... So parts are v.rare in fact i've been tryin to get a part for mine for around 3months so far! Lol

Re: Y10 engine

Y10 Turbo and Y10 generally are based on the same architecture as the 903cc OHV (later 899cc) engine that was fitted in the Cinq.

It could fit, but finding such an engine would be real hard!!

Actually most Y10s have either a 999CC or 1108CC FIRE engine. Only the short lived and limited selling Touring, Turbo and GTIe models had non FIRE-engines.

The LX, LXie, FIRE, 4WD, Selctronic, Fila (yup, after the sports brand), Martini, Avenue, Mia etc. all had standard FIRE engines as used in Uno, Panda and Cinq sporting.
