Further to my previous post, i've found that when i use the rear washer, water erupts out of the rear nearside wing, at the bottom.

I'm assuming that there must be a split in the pipe but can anyone tell me where the pipe runs and how to get to it etc.

Many thanks....

If you open the tail gate the pipe appears there and there is a union to undo to allow removal of the tailgate.

You can trace the pipes going aft from the resevoir pump outlet...

Dont carry incontinent birds.

I can see the pipe from the tailgate which disappears into the body. Does it go down to floor level from there? How do i go about tracing it once it disappears inside the body of the car? When i try the rear washer i can hear water being pumped through and it appears down by the rear nearside wheel. If i remove the small piece of exterior trim near the rear wheel will that give me access to find it? Or is there a much better way?

As instructed i took off the interior and found that the pipe had become disconnected. Reconnected this but still nothing coming out of the squirter. Tried the pin - still no luck!

Have checked all the hoses and they are perfect so all i can think now is that the nozzle through which the water emerges is blocked.

How do i remove this? There is a rubber bung on the inside of the tailgate which i've remoived but there is no way i can get the nozzle out through that. Does it pull through from the outside? I've tried applying a little force but it didn't budge. Didn't want to be too forceful just incase it all shattered. Or is there another way to remove it?

Look forward to your thoughts....

If you disconnect at the tail gate union and water comes out there when you operate the control...

Try a very fine dress pin in the nozzle... If that does not work...

Undo the union again and close the tailgate.

Then you need a garden style hose without an end device hold the hose end over the nozzle assemble tight against the paint work and get some one else to tun on the facut. Run the water for some time to back flush the pipe.

If the pipe is ok the water should not enter the car... If it does the pipe is bad an you need to pull out the nozzle assembly, it should go back ok, but it is difficult to replace the pipelength if you pull it out without a new pipe stuch to the other end of the old pipe...

Get the 2nd person to turn off the facut or change clothing...

Unfortunately i've removed the pipe that goes into the nozzle to check it s condition. I now need to remove the nozzle itself. Can i do this by just pulling it out or is it secured from the inside of the tailgate meaning i can't get it out?

Well on very early cinq's it was held in place like a grommet, i.e. pull carefully. I'd try to get washing up liquid between the paint and the nozzle, then try and rotate, the nozzle to get the washing up liquid to penetrate, to avoid damage to tail gate or the nozzle. wrap soft cloth around and hold with pliers.

It wont be easy to re-thread cable you need to think about coat hanger wire tool across the top of the tail gate, dont let go the wire, ---- I think sorry...

Just to check, this is the bit that the water should squirt out of onto the rear windscrren, that should pull out?

Yes it is (used to be) a grommet in hard rubber, if you have not a nice warm garage, try a hair dryer on it, and tail gate surround, for 30 minutes, then apply washing up liquid...

Dont know what the neighbours will think
