Having now solved the wiring problem (see HELP - ICE Wiring Problem thread) of gettin through the bulk head [much appreciated to those who gave suggestions - went with the speedo cable] now cant seem to get the amp to turn on. Its got power and audio connection..

 However, the head unit itself has RCA connectors, but doesnt have a remote cable - to turn the amp on. Therefore as a result I connected the remote cable up to the ignition power cable that attaches at the back of the head unit, but it only makes the power led on the amp light up in a plusing manner. {crazy}. So.....

Need an idea, any idea, and pronto. :D

cheers again in advance :)

nope, tried that - all the gain, and the boosts were full, and the head unit was balanced to the back... cheers anyway tho
:D

Na, didnt come on at all. All it seems to do is this pulsing power thing - so therefor ethe fuse cant be blown - otherwise it wouldnt do that, no sounds , and have felt the subs and they aint got even the faintest pulse - not a sausage.

cheers anyways tho

Ill be very suprised if the head unit doesnt have a remote cable of some sort... it will be blue or blue/white.

If it doesnt have a dedicated remote wire try to find a wire that has power antenna on it and use that.

there should defininitly be a dedicated connection for the remote lead! if you have an ISO connecter on your head unit (which most of them do) then you should be able to find a diagram somewhere on the internet to tell you where to put the remote cable from the amp! hope this helps

Hi. I'm the guy whos stereo it actually is. Cheerz to all who have posted suggestions both on this thread and the previous one. Erm..as far as know the amp has been earthed. Will have a search to see if i can find a diagram anywhere to tell us where to put the remote cable. If anyone else ahs any other suggestions please let me know. Thanx! :)

meldz,

cant remember there bein a blue or blue/white wire, and without the diagram - which i looked for and couldnt find, i aint got any ideas.

plus was thinking, as already wired to the ignition on wire it should have worked... no idea

also tried lookin for a stereo manual on the net... but could remember the band.. so no luck.

bloody pain

keepin thinkin

laters dude

Melders I had this problem with my sub, it just made some weird popping, pulsing noises.

Turned out that the amplifier on the Sub had blown and I needed a new Sub/Amp.

Right quick update:

Still no luck with this problem..... :bang:

Have connected this united upto another system, and it works fine - indicating that there is something wrong with the way the system is wired.

I have connected the power with both a 15amp (suggested by the amp's installatiopn leaflet) and a 40amp which came with the cables. Ive checked the power cable for any nicks or defects - but nothing. The amp is grounded in the boot to a big bolt that connects into the bodywork.

The head does appear to have a remote connection but the ISO connector doesnt. So i have tried connecting the remote cable to both this port as well as testing it on the live wires.

However each time the amp indicates a 'pulsing' power. To look into this deeper i connected a different amp/sub system up. The amp (which ever way wired) kept lighting up the 'protection' led...

what the hell is wrong with this system... i seem to have checked all the obvious stuff, and have wired previous systems before, but this one is a real head-f@*k.

Has anyone got any positive ideas, that dont include (and no offence) things like - did you turn the head unit on?!! or have you brought a sub?!!

HELP its drivin me mental :bang:

Cheers

also u may now have the problem with ur remote teminal on your amps the remote should only need 3 volts to rum through it any more than that and it will cause some serious problems with ur amp not unless the ignition is 3v which i dont think it is
