while trying to fit my all singing, all dancing alarm system I've killed my standard central locking, when it first went, it locked the car but wouldn't unlock it. Neo it does nither so its about time i replaced/repaired it. but i need to fid it first

well I'm still on the hunt, the bit I'm looking for is the relay that does the locking/unlocking on my autodata didk it shows it in the middle of the car, this is also where I've mounted the alarm box and where I saw the dreaded blue smoke of death. I'm not sure if it was the alarm or the standard central locking that got fried. but seen as now it doesnt work, I'm hoping it was just the standard one.

does anybody know where this is? BTW its a sporting MPI if they've changed anything

thanks

Which wires were you trying to connect to with regard to the central locking?
Were you splicing into the relay outs to the door lock motors?

I'd used them blue connectors that mean you don't need to cut the wires, anyhow, I'd got it all working great so I decided to sort the wires out and tidy the install up, I moved the alarm box and wires to cabletie them under the dash then heard a bang and saw a big poof of blue smoke. after that I ripped it all back out, it had only killed the unlock at that point. I'd run wires into the drivers door and joined into the wires there.

Behind the passenger side door pillar trim (lower section) are the cables.
The alarm should have two volt free relays. connect the commons to earth and then the relay outs go to the White/Yellow, Light blue/Red wires.
If the cenral locking opens the door when alarm is armed then reverse the connections to the W/Y, Lb/R wires.

I'm going to have one last go at the dam thing tomorrow, if your kicking around Barnsley anytime feel free to pop over, I've got beer and a good choice of takeaways. I do remember the second time I tried fitting it, when the alarm lock/unlock was pressed the wires to the lock contracted. you could see them move quite a bit. I ended up going through a lot of fuses too.

The central locking control module contains relays that change states from +12v out to 0v in, to reverse the motor.
If you connected to these to supply +12v to the motor from the alarm relays then chances are that one of the relays inside the C/L module took your supply to 0v creating a short. This can burn out or weld the relay contacts.
You probably need a new control module.
Also check the alarm relay contacts by powering up the alarm and checking continuity of the contacts on arm/dissarm. They should close for about 2 seconds.

Ive got autodata cd2 on disc.

great I've found it:woot:and one of the relays is melted. so, the plan now is to nip to the scrappys and get another one, I'll take the remote control part off mine so i wont need the key fobs. hope this works.(y)

well good news, I've got central locking now, yay. as soon as I find a car with remote central locking I'll be happy, so now I'm goin to try and get my alarm working.
Does anybody know what type of locking system the seicentos have? I've got a choice of:
Positive lock system
Negative lock system
Negative one wire system
Positive one wire system
Reverse polarity system
Vacuum door lock system (dam sure its not this one)

The alarm has 4 wires:
10a (-)lock,(+)unlock output
10a (+)lock,(-)unlock output
(-) 500mA unlock output
(-) 500mA lock output
