General Cinq Abarth Project 1.4 16v

Any thought about the great big lump on the front of the rocker cover (pretty sure the VVT thing will be a development -- please God, a more reliable one -- of the Alfa "variator"): I looked at the pictures Dave put up and think you might be able to use that if you go to twin headlights (and you'd get far better lighting as a result)?

Pic of label on the alternator.

PS wheels on the bay of E

you swapping the alternator and pulley over from the cinq? Still unsure what you did on the sei with regards to that.

No, didn't do it on Sei, so see no reason to do it now :) This is a higher output alternator 70amp, think one on the Sei is the same, bit better than the 55amp Cento's come with. :D

IIRC we took a little off the bracket and made a spacer but there wasn't a huge amount of work in it to make it all fit.

Its been a while since Team Lloyd did any projects, so yesterday we travelled miles to pick up this little gem!

Over the winter we hope to transform this cinq into possibly the first 1.4 16v with 6 speed gearbox, not sure if anyone has done it yet, altho have heard people thinking about it!

We now have the car and a brand new 1.4 16v engine and gearbox awaiting to be joined as one!

Hi guys, I have this project going as well, although very slowly. I have a bare, slightly fire-damaged 1.4 16v engine that I'll need to build up before it goes in the Cinq, but the wiring looks like it will be a bit daunting at the moment. Are you going to modify the Cinq loom to add the extra injectors and sensors for the 16v engine or will you use a loom from something like a mk1 punto sporting?

Another question; As I have a completely bare engine, I'll need to source all the belts and things like alternator and oil pump etc. I know you have had to modify the engine mount for clearance, but is there any way to do it by mixing'n'matching components from different cars to make it all fit without modification?

Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated :)

cheers,

James
