Hi all, I just bought a cinq 1.1 sporting. R reg.

I did a search but couldn't get this forums search engine to look for phrases. It found every thread containing the word door.

So I'm having to ask....

There is a problem with the drivers door lock. The central locking doesn't fully un-lock it and sometimes it locks again.

I have to turn the key hard over to make it unlock.

Do you know why?

What's the cure?

Thanks.

Noticed this eve that a small turn of the key in the drivers door operates the central locking which pops up the locks, but they bounce a bit, and this seems to lock it again. So then the key has to go all the way around.

I would already have taken the door card off but it seems to be breaking apart before it moves.

The door lock motor drives a screw thread to push/pull the lock mech.
As the actuator moves, A set of wiper type contacts slide up a pcb and give power to the motor.
If the wipers are dirty/damaged, Then the motor will stop before reaching the end of it's cycle.
There are two more wipers for control module trigger which activate one of two relays, Up/Down. (hence 4 wire system).
If any motor stops at any point between rest then the other that HAS moved will be signaled to move back.
Motors that are worn/loose/incorrectly fitted can bounce and trigger a move back command.

The door lock manualy lifts the motor actuator and triggers an open/close command to the control module.

Hope this helps in problem solving.
