Ok, Charlie's going on his holidays next week.....well he's going to stop at
bf's house so he can give him a full service as he's sounding a bit like a
diesel at the mo !

As well as oil, oil filter, air filter, what else should be done? He's going to have
a go at flushing the rad too.

:D

I have just changed the oil, oil filter, spark plugs and fuel filter.

Runs well now. Old oil was black and gritty.

Full light check, washer fluid top up, wiper blade check, check brake pad wear, check for lip on rear drums, handbrake adjustment, overall visual inspection of engine bay and mechanics.

Hope this helps.

Liam

Cheers all. He's only 4 weeks into his MOT so a lot of things *should* be
ok !!! Handbrake is crap (as per all fiats LOL). He only failed this MOT
on wiper blades and a CV boot so I know the blades are all ok.

Although he's just passed his MOT, I don't think he's been serviced for a
while and he's sounding a bit rough. Only had him 3 weeks or so and
already done over 1,000 miles !!!! That's what ya get when your
fella lives miles away !!! Think I should move ! ;)

He's got a bit of a leak from the rocker cover gasket but nothing serious
at the mo.

Anything else ? :D

its a 95 cinq, so im guessing its done more than 70k. might be an idea to change the gearbox oil. new brake fluid is always good.
check the timing belt, check the alternator belt.

dont worry about small leaks from the cam cover, they all seem to leak a lil there. Unbolt and smear some instant gasket round it and it'll be reet

I know about the brakes, they're on the list to check :)

He's only done less than 60k !! But gearbox oil might be on the list of
things to do. Depends how much time he gets.

Alternator belt looks good - checked that the other day.

Timing belt ???

Hey Mini Slapper, lol, had my Cinq for bout 2months now - My rocker cover gasket was leaking to. You can get a new one from Fiat for around £2.90 or something. Fitted it myself its quite an easy job. Just make sure you don't over tighten screws when you putting it back together, like stupid me. I snapped a screw over tightening and the thread bit of the screw was stuck in the hole. Had to buy a new bit from scrappys.

Got my MOT in two months hope it passes.

:D
