Anyone got a simple diagram of where each lead goes from each plug to which connector on the coils?

The two small connectors, ie. LT side?

Make sure the HT leads are on correct, then try them either way. One way the car will barely start and die straight away, the other way it will run fine. It really is like chalk and cheese, and it won't do any real harm.

I mean litterally, which leads go to which points on the coil?

If someone would be able to draw some brightly coloured lines on this pic, that would be lovely :D

Ah! Its in a guide somewhere, the spark plug guide I think. TO maybe help (hopefully not confuse):

If you look by the spark holes, the numbers are cast on the head. Then if you look at the coil pack holder under the coils (the metal part) they are cast on there as well. Just match them up :)

The order of plugs goes from the belt end to gearbox end 1,2,3,4

As long as 1+4 spark plugs go to one coil pack, then 2+3 go to the other coil pack, you'll be ok with regards to HT leads. (as long as you took the pairs to the correct coils)

so basically the first two leads (working from the timing end) are 1+4, then 3+2 next - and so long as they're in pairs like that there should be no problems?
:D

It should be written on the oil pack housing if you look.
