Hi all. I am new to the forum. I am thinking of buying a Fiat Seicento Mia. It is a 1999 on a T plate, 60,000, 899cc. I went to see it today and i immediately saw an oil leak at the top of the engine. Looks like a gasket leak but not knowing where a head gasket is on these cars i do not know if it leaking from there. I also took off the oil cap and there was a bit of gunk. I was told this might be cause the car is only ised for short runs.There was no oil in the engine itself but i am just wondering if it worth buying or should i steer clear. The guy had it up for £725 but said he would take £650.

Advice or pictures of a head gasket leak. I have looked through the forum and it looks like the rocker cover but i am not 100% sure.

I would avoid it. Keep looking and get one that has been maintained.

It'll be the rocker cover gasket if the leak is above the exhaust manifold.

Check the dipstick for mayo.

Get a test drive. Beware if the clutch bite is high. Make sure the radiator fan comes on. Look for any rust in the boot -- if there is, walk away.

650 is a bit much for an 889. Try for 600.
