This light keeps on flashing up on my little cinquecento and just wondered if anyone knew anything about what the problem is and how it can be fixed?

it also keeps on juddering as i'm going along! if anyone can please help at all i'd be very grateful :)

All the warning light "really" tells you is that the ECU has picked up a signal from one of the engine sensors which is out of bounds. It's saying "something is wrong!"

It'll actually leave an error message on the memory of the ECU which anyone with the correct code reader can read.

Does it do it hot or cold or hot and cold?

Sorry yeah i should have been more informative..

Well, when i start the car, it flashes on and then off, yesterday when i was driving, it came on and my car juddered but then went off again.. the car must have been hot, as i drove it 10 miles to my house?

it is not the map sensor, try and get a new water tempreture sensor mine was £6 from t.m.s, that sorted mine out, it had the same problem, i bought a new map sensor that did not cure it, then i went to the breakers yard and took the full spi unit off a seicento sporting £25, this made the car faster more powerful, but did not cure the problem, so i got the water temp sensor, this was just by chance, but it cured it straight away, if its a 899 make sure that the sensor has a light blue top if not the car will not run right, remove it like a spark plug and put the new one in. hope this helps(y)

Mine had the same problem and it turned out to be the lambda sensor had given up the ghost.

Changed it and all was good, plus I had some decent fuel economy back again.

same problem i am facing with my UNO 1242cc petrol version, injection failure light is coming in dash..problem still not solved..in cold conditon my car starts good, problem arrives when i drive, engine misfires, so i have increase engine rpm to prevent stalling..which sensors could be faulty....what could be the possible cause...PLS HELP:cry:

Or have the fault codes read from your ecu.
My first cinque (1242mpi)the injector light only came on only at 6k rpm so rest of time if i drove it easy it stayed off,
got it plugged in to a fault code reader it came up with a few faults cant remember exactly which ones but the chap resetted it and it only came back with injector unit fault, changed injectors and sorted cost me £20 back then

Hi i've just started having this problem on my 899 Cinq. It was fine untill the other day when it started playing up. I went out in it and it was fine then i parked up for a while then when i started it up again and it came on for the 1st time. The car drove fine at speed but was close to stalling while idling. Then after a while it went out for a few mins then came back on. Yesterday it was fine when starting from cold (in the evening after a ton of rain) and ran perfect all day. Then today i startd it up for the 1st time and on came the light and it stayed on for most of my 5 or so mile drive.

Ok this may sound crazy but i thiink it might be something to do with a new stereo i put in it. See..i was drving out to buy a new CD player for it and it was fine. I then got the CD player and fitted it. Then when i went to drive home thats when it started playing up. Sounds odd i know but a friend of mine had something like that heppen to them. They have a 03 1.1 Sei and it ran like a dream, then they put in a new CD player and the same thing happend until they switched it back to the old one.

Well i've yet to switch mine back but i'll let you know what happens....may be i'm just being paranoid...LOL :D

Grrr i think the light is just toying with me. I switched the stereo's back and the car ran perfect. Even after stoping and re-starting the car after a few miles it was fine, so i was like "yay it worked!!!"...but...after about 10 miles the light came back for no reason and stayed on :bang: This time the car drove fine, no affect on performance nor any trouble while idling..so i dont know what it is..lol. I guess i'll have to have the thing looked at.

Hi. The light comes on when i turn the ignition but then goes out. Then when i start the engine it sometimes comes on a few seconds after i start it from cold, sometimes it fine and doesn't come on at all. Same when starting from hot. Like today. It started fine from cold. Then i ran it about 5 miles and all was fine. I pulled over and started the engine again and all was fine..then a few miles later the light just came on and stayed on.

Performance wise...when the light is on i've not actually noticed a restriction in the revs..but then again i dont hammer it, but it will do 70-80mph no problems (its a 899) and pulls away fine. Mine doesn't have a rev counter so its hard to tell what revs i'm doing but all seems and feels ok....no judders or anything. The only problem i've noticed is while idling. If it comes on while the engine in cold it starts to stall while at lights etc so i have to keep the revs up ever so slightly...but after a while when the engine warms up its fine even with the light on.
