Almost completed the engineswap (my first)

Engine is running fine (car is still jackedup)

A few question though

1. I found the things in the picture under the car
any idea where they are supposed to be?

2 .If I rev the engine my speedo moves but not the rpm meter, I'm pretty sure there's just one cable?

I think they are the bushes for the gearlinkage mount on the back of the box, but you shouldn't have needed to take them off.

-not to poo poo on what you've suggested Rallycinq, but I've just been fiddling with my old airbox... read on:
They look very much like the little sleeve washers that belong to the OE airbox.

In the last one you can sorta see where they fit (pic is from the underside of an MPI airbox - though the spi box has them too, and presumably the 1.2 - sorry about the quality of the pics!).

Any chance you could have missed them when refitting the airbox?

rallycinq: I did not take them out, I was working ontop of the engine and head some metall objects hitting the ground. I'll try to put them in place this evening and see if they fit.

ronnieronson: Neither the 1.1 nor the 1.2 engine has the oe airbox on, the 1.1 had a piper aftermarket one and the 1.2 had none when I got it.
It's possible although unlikely that when they removed the airbox from the new engine that these things fell and stuck somewhere on the engine...

fingers99: Thanks for the info, worked rpm meter worked fine one on the ground...

Thanks for the replies... the car is back on the ground and working, just need to add the exhaust spacer and fix the reverse then I'll consider the swap complete
