hey everyone, not been on in a while so thought id pop on and just let you all no how the turbo is doing and some of the near future plans,,,,its covered 4000 miles in just over a month and its doing very well, ive recently had a bad fueling problems where the car would run lean under very light or sudden acceleration which had quiet dramatic effects on how the car drove as it would feel like someone applying the brakes then straight after accelerting hard!! thankfully it never did this while the turbo was on boost seen as it runs fairly rich on the second injector,,,the problem turned out to be the coolant temp sensor! which i think has been on its way out for some time now. with that replaced the car runs smooth as silk.
also the nice alloy intercooler i bought has been sold on as it was a bad fit and was a big task to fit,,i have a very small intercooler from an escort rs turbo but on trying to fit the cooler its causing me problems rooting the pipeing up under the bonnet and is beginning to be a real pain so any cheeky offers of a helping hand from someone whoes fitted one to a cinq before or has any ideas would be great
seen as the car remains un intercooled!
once the cooler is on i have a ported and polished head with a modified inlet manifold and decomp plate to fit with a kent cam and pully and with the greddy electronic boost controller ive fitted im looking to have the boost set around 0.5-0.6 bar (rolling road set up) to see how things go (the greddy is a great bit of kit, it inmproved the cars responce and lag hugely!)
the addition of four toyo proxes T1-R tyres have been fitted also which im very impressed with wet and dry, although in the wet 1st 2nd and somtimes 3rd is a real hand full
and i must say ive been a proud owner of a turbo for a few months now and im still loving every second behind the wheel of the little pocket rocket 11 out of 10 for fun! im not enjoying the money side of it however i was warned!!!
