Re: cutting springs

it would be better to use oxy acetylene. ive seen the banger boys doing it they just take the whhels off put the car on the floor then heat the spring up. and the car drops down this way you would still have the coils to locate on the top of the springs. iam putting coilovers on mine so i will give it a go with the old springs.

Re: cutting springs

Heating up the springs can make them brittle and makes them snap.....not really ideal haha.

Re: cutting springs

why dont you just take the spring off, get it in a coil spring compressor, and use acetylene to get it red hot in the middle (If you cut into it you've f**ked it) and let it cool down on its own (put a mark on the spring compressor so you get it exact) then release it and the heat from the torch relaxes the windings and when you let it cool naturally and you let it off it causes the spring to not go back to its full stretch when not under tension if you get what I mean. No chopping required (never tried it, Just a thought)

ALTERNATIVELY Go on the POTN.com website and on spax suspension, they do adjustable damping kits on FINANCE. Get a set bought and stay safe.

Re: cutting springs

If you go the above route and get Spaxs, get a set for a Sei Sporting, not a Cinq Sporting...................
