Thats alright then as a good spaceframe/cage will be needed to be made if your putting the engine at the back as half the floor will be needed to be chopped out

Otherwise, I'm inclined to think that a CBR engine belongs in a bike!

Re: bike engined Seicento

Maybe you could try contacting these guys - I think this is a bit more extreme than what you're going after, but worth a try anyway:

YouTube - Fiat Cinquecento prototipo by Gulli...

Re: bike engined Seicento

has anyone got a picof the diff unit or a pic of a engine bay with the engine out. in the manual it looks like the diff units on the back of the gearbox so i might be able to use it.but the drive of the bike engines on the other side so i could drive it off a shaft.

Haven't seen one yet Only CC, 126 and 500. Try looking around though - the key word is "Proto" (I think it's the racing class for these little beasts in Italy).

Id agree...but if you can build it into a car...dont do a Cinq. Full up weight should be sub 210kg (so its never gonna be roadlegal and will only have one seat)...then you'll grin from ear to ear...

Re: bike engined Seicento

Were I (currently) looking at a rear engined Cinq, and a bit scared about the room an Alfa V6 would take up, I think I'd look at the T series Rover and the 1.8 Audi turbo mill. Both are great engines begging for a decent home. And any fwd car engine stuffed in the back of a Cinq avoids all the horrors of sorting out the transmission.

Then again, a W4 based on two Ducati 888s would be interesting..............

Re: bike engined Seicento

So, it's chain drive to the diff, using the CBR box and clutch? Adjusting the chain through the plate?
