I recently bought a Cinquento sporting 1997 1.1. and ive had probelms with it since day one! first it over heated so i put im a new thrmostat which seemed to work then it wouldn't start again so i bought a new battery!
* the speedo isnt working and its nothing to do with the connection
* There seems to be smelly fumes coming from somewhere
* the engine is making a chugging noise
* there was clear smoke coming from the exshust and it was spluttering a bit
* the fuel seems to be going down alot

* and theres alot of water coming out from the exshuat
anyone have any ideas or should i just give up?

can it be anything eles? what could the water be?

Water could be condensation, depends on how often you run it for short times. Check all the TB vacuum connections.

Get a compression test done. That will tell if the HG has gone. For the speedo, is the cable connected properly both ends? Could well be that the cable inner has broken.

New cable for the speedo, sounds like it hasnt been serviced in while
