Well bit the bullet yesterday, and bought a cinq sporting, with tax, Mot, 76k, no leaks, all elecs working, no gearbox issues, and the t-belt done at 52k.cost me £350, not sure if its a bargain, but hey I'll have fun with it.

Any car for £350 with t&t is a bargin surely.

What miles are on it now? can't really tell condition from that pic but who cares so long as your happy with it, bet that feels a bit different from all those volvo's lol enjoy!!

76k Miles on it now, Condition is excellent, not a single patch of rust.
Ya it does feel a bit different from the Volvos, but I dont dis the cinqs anymore, these wee cars have allot to offer, loved driving the Sporting !
Just need to give it a good valet, refurb the alloys, fluid change and sort the brakes. And we are good to go !

well congrats on the find.. These cars don't really have the rust issues that older fiats are famous for. The body is galvanised so they don't really rust.

I remember my first cinq, i was actuallyreally disappointed to have one, it was an aunts and she said i could have it for 200 quid as i was family and i really needed a car. But soon as i drove off i had this inane little grin on. been in ceno-land ever since

[hey welcome to the family. i think its a bargain, aswell as being the best color - have fun ..../quote]

well they do rust... but as a general rule you don't really get rusty ones unless they been damaged and repaired. And no there isn't any rust on my rear arches, on either of the shells. Theres a spot on the battery tray on one but thats about it.

Will you stop this! They rust. Some do and some don't. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with accident damage as when they rust they rust from the rear seatbelt mounts down, on both sides. Seis do it too. For that to be bad accident repair you'd expect either the car to be a write off or to see signs of welding.

It seems to depend on whether the body was in the dip long enough/deep enough and/or whether it got waxoyld.

So why does it always happens at that bit (near rear wheel arch ) ????

What causes that ??

Dunno. I suspect that it's a fault in the dipping process. Maybe somedays they were just dipped too quick -- no time for the air to escape. There's also a really nasty tube formed where several panels meet which seems to be a problem area (runs from the rear lights forward). Because it's an area where several panels join it's a real swine to weld up well and repair.
