Hi all,
My mate got me an under strut brace for my cinq and was wondering if this is how you are meant to fit it. The handling has inproved a noticable amount.

Cheers

before fitting that i would've fitted an anti roll bar, sporting springs and dampers (or indeed some decent aftermarket ones), some thicker tyres and an upper strut brace!

actually what am i on about - i dont think i've have any ground clearance if i fitted a lower brace

For that I need money, which I have none of at the moment, well actually I lie, I've got £400 to spend on the car.

So its fitted correctly, thats all I wanted to know.

Cheers

I'll get some pics of mine up some time, avoid all raised surfaces, like kerbs, rubbish, stones, speed humps.

Ive been there and done it.....My advise would be to remove it

Im sure a bespoke one could be made in a much more sensible design though, with the benefit's but not the downsides :)

Maybe but it makes very little difference on the road TBO a decent suspension and top brace is plenty for road driving. If you want something custom after that an uprated ARB would be money better spent

It's generally understeer we're trying to get rid of, so I can't see an uprated front ARB helping. Maybe a rear ARB like the Punto....... Adjustable, of course.....

The OMP top strut braces have always struck me as dreadfully spindly things: I think a weld on design using the side as well as the top of the strut turret might be better. Would be an engine out job to fit, though.

But in this case the suspension and ARB need to come: no point in fitting a strut brace if there are no real loads going through it.

What arb did Alex have on El? that was uprated big jobby, was bent to hell from hitting stuff but he told me that it didn't really catch anymore he'd hit it so many times lol. Think the standad one is more than adequate really, just put one on with new swingarms on my reshell project. Just need a top brace to finish suspension off at the front

nope its not but will be soon. The tub has a full tank of optimax in it at the moment, just waiting for my dad to come round so i can empty it into his merc so i can remove fuel pump and lines from engine but its just about ready for swapping over now. Everything else is off ready for me to move apart from fuel lines
