A good few months back, the pump for the front winscreen washer decided to pack up so just as a temporary fix, I swapped the pumps over.

What I really need to know is, will it pass the MOT with just the one pump working ??

Not enough time now to source a new pump before the test although I know I should have just sorted this ages ago

Will it pass? well, that depends on the tester really. As a general rule, anything thats fitted to a car needs to work, ie you don't need a reversing light, but if its fitted it needs to work, so, you can assume that its the same for rear washer (not all cars have them). But theres a very good chance that it could pass as it is, no one for sure can say if it will or won't pass.

Took it for the test this morning & unfortunately for me it did fail and the pump was one of the points. Think I'll start a new thread for advice on the other points !!

I really don't wanna be replacing a knackered pump with one from a scrappy, besides which scrapped Cinq's seem few & far between in my area. I've had a quick gander on Shop4Parts but come up with nothing. Anybody know a good source for a new pump ?? Is it possible to replace the 2 pump setup with a single one but have it feed the screens independently ??

Cheers for the quick replies :)

yes, it will pass with a broken rear wash :)

it did fail and the pump was one of the points.
:D

Nothing wrong with using a second hand one, several people on here and on e-bay currently breaking centos. And it'll probably be the easiest and quickest way of getting it sorted in time for a retest.
