aerial replacement

Hi, :D
Just been given a brand new Richbrook anti-theft chrome aerial for my W Reg Sei sporting, however the existing aerial isn't screw off type. The newer mark 2 Sei's seem to have screw off fitting.
My question is has anyone modded an existing aerial to accomodate this flash looking aerial?
Please help.
If not i guess i will have to sell it. ;)

hi
i got myself an ally aerial, its not an anti theft one though and the thread on my sei was different, if thats the case with yours too then dont think theres anything you can do to make it fit.
as youve prob found out 'universal fitting' dont mean anything when it comes to the Sei![:(!]

according to haynes the aerial mast can be unscrewed from the base. however it does not specify on other types of aerials. This maybe just for the cinq but i will tell you what it says

REMOVAL

tilt the aerial mast fully downwards (towards the rear of the veichile then pull out the now exposed cover plug to reveal the aerial securing screw. Un screw the securing screw, then lift aerial from the roof, Recover the surround molding.

REFITTING

reffiting is a reversal of removing. Here it is written to make it easier for you.

Uncover the surround molding. The put the aerial back into the roof. Screw the securing screw. and then rrecover by pul;ling up the aerial gently

Thanks for replying Kurupt, will give it a go at the weekend. Tried to get it off in the past but with no luck. Just to confirm do the newer seicento's have an easy screw off type aerial?
