Ok the sroty is, i have now done the 1242cc engine swap in my cinq, had it back a week and loved it. But friday i turned onto a bit of a country road went for it and then after goin over a small bump the car just died basically, its starts and drives but wen you get to about 3000 revs the power just basically shuts down and petrol fumes come back through the throttle body, I havn't yet had a proper look at it, new spark and ht leads were fitted about an hour after this had happned but to no avail. Just wondering if anyone knows of anything obvious that may be causing this

check the cam belt timing
Do you have the ECU warning light? If not, suspect the crank sensor (or the wiring/connector to it).
hi pal i had the same problem had a fuel filter change then put some carb cleaner in it it done the trick
