Re: best make of replacement parts ?

Best or best value?

I could suggest tarrox 40 groove brake discs but they might not be the sort of thing you're after.

I'll give it a stab:

Plugs and leads, Magnecore and NGK
Brake disks and pads, if you have 14s, do the big disk conversion, Marea (etc) calipers, stock pads, pattern Alfa 155 disks. Pratting around with the standard size disks and pads is a (relative) waste of money.
Springs -- I dunno -- I suspect they're all really made by one of the same 3 companies!
Strut brace -- the only one you're likely to get is OMP. They're horrible and you might have fitting problems with the ABS.
Air filter -- go GSR.

I'll add my penny's worth

Springs- Eibach's or FK's not cheap but definately the best.. would also recommend shocks to suit..
Agree with the 257mm brakes.. although if not I found Tarrox pretty good although RED Dot are also well praised on here and also EBC..
Strut Brace- Again get the OMP one there is a Specific one which should clear the ABS.
GSR for airfilter

Id say
Champion Eons & KV85 leads
Ive not played with brakes so carnt comment on them altho i have some uprated UT brakes in the garage.
Plenty of springs on the market
OMP strut braces are readily avalible
GSR induction kit with a decent filter and cold air feed
