my timing belt broken today, I put it all together with new parts (quick job), but how will I find the right crankshaft and camshaft positions???? i have crankshaft on mark(10o'clock) also camshaft at 9o'clock and belt on markings too-but crankshaft is making two revolutions while camshaft only one-so how to set camshaft in right positon???Or this absolutely doesn't matter on cinq???it won't mix something??? btw. engine is running allright, reving nice to 7k, just want to know for next time

thanks for soon advice

If you've got it running right and to 7K then you must have got lucky and got it right first time.

its fine, but now I noticed strange squeaking sound at 2k - what it could be?? too tight alternator belt or timing belt??? help please

how to thoroughly tighten belts???? what exaxtly means this part from guides??
"the belt shouldnt move more than 90o when twisted at the tensioner"?

Did you change the tensioner as well?

Remove the alternator belt and run the car without to check whether the noise is still there or not. That will either rule in or rule out the alternator belt or bearings.

The tension on the cambelt should be loose enough to turn the belt through 90 degrees on the longest side.

Too tight is as bad as too loose, in this application.

will do this again today-it will turn to 90degrees but not very softly-its hard to find the right tightness for this

of course I changed also tensioner

Good, just checking, some folk try and save a few pounds.

ehm... :D

btw. that strange sound was nothing serious - guess what :D

-cover was in contact with crankshaft pulley

I think its better to tight it a bit loose than too tight, what do you think??

one more think-when I switch off the engine, there's some very quiet "knock-knock" sound from the airfilter box area-what it could be???
