When i lock my Fiat Cinquecento SX 899cc from the passenger side the door pin on the drivers side goes down but you can still open the drivers side with out unlocking it. if i lock the car from the drivers side the car locks fine.

Take the inside door handle and lock surround off, carefully pull off the door card, and cut the foam sheet with a stanley knife. You can fool the lock into thinking the door is shut when it's open by turning the U shaped black plastic latch bit on the outside of the door anticlockwise until it clicks twice. You should then be able to lock and unlock the door with it open, and see what's happening inside - it sounds like you might have a loose linkage.

BTW, you'll need some gaffer tape to put the foam sheet back when you've finished.

Good luck,

Pete.

Cheapo alarm with central locking interface, cost £65. Easy enough to wire into the cinq.

You're Buggered if you lock yourself in and the battery in the key goes though!

That's something to look forward to - any port in a storm!!

Seriously, if the doors are locked, pulling the inside door handle will unlock and open the door. I've got a lock / unlock switch on the dash too.
