I wanna add a rev counter to my 899cc Sei SX. I know FixItAgain (I think it was him), was doing it, but had problems with connecting it [V].

How easy is it to add it into the dash and get the wires to the bonnet [?] Does the whole dash need to be stripped and can the sporting counter fit straight on, by removing a little knockout plate [?]

you'd need a sporting dash bit.. its all different from what i recall.

i think trying to plumb one in isnt the easiest thing in the world either

I thought on the Sei SX, the wiring connector was hidden under the knockout. Then the Sporting tacho cfould be slotted on.

I cant confirm this im afraid!

Pull the air vents out and have a lookie behind - a four cable connector may be there ready for the 'counter. If so, just mangle a suitable hole in the dash and connect up.

What size hole is needed etc [?] There's a knockout panel in the centre of my dash, it's an oval shape probably about 2-3 inches in diameter. Will the knockout panel work [?]

I just had a look, and remove the knockout panel. Behind the panel there was a bolt holding the dash on and a couple of small holes to let air through because it's part of the air vent thing. I couldn't see anything behind the air vents though. I think I'm gonna leave it because I don't wanna cut holes in my car [V]

right, what you need to do is remove the 2 front centre air vents and look inside behind there - the ones above the heater controls.

Yeah, I did that, but there weren't many useful wires there, I don't really want to make a hole anyway [V]
