We have a sporting we've had for 6 years and put over 110,000 miles on it. We always put Pirellis on but got fed up at the price and limited lifespan so for the last set we've had Nank**gs - seriously soft sidewall and terrifing on the motorway tramlining etc. (Not a wise choice). I was never impressed with the Pirellis but in retrospect they semed pretty good compared to these.
What are the other options? opinions?

BTW I've always serviced it myself, still on original clutch and still the valves haven't needed adjusting! ( + 2x radiators, headgaskets and oh yes, 3x clutch cables - I suppose I'd better order another..........)

14" 6J wheels, 195/45/14 Uniroyal Rainsports. Very little tramlining, great grip and feel, very cheap. Effectively, Uniroyal are the specialist arm of Conti, who own them.

You'll get a load of different opinions from people who have the tyres on their car Many people have compared tyres of different makes and sizes, but prob not on the same car, back to back, so all a bit subjective.

I like Continental Sport contact as I have them Lots of tread, similar price but 10x better than pirelli p700z.

You're right changing the wheels is something I should have done ages ago. I didn't expect us to keep it so long tbh....Which fit with correct offset PCD etc? and no bodywork mods? Thanks

Between us, me and Aaron have compared a lot of 14" tyres. Both of us prefer the Uniroyals.

Thanks very much for the info - I don't suppose there are wheels off another fiat that would fit straight on with suitable spacers? (Trouble is most people don't know what dims their wheels are anyway and I would be buying s/h). Cheers, thanks for all your help

AFAIK, none of the FIATS are 14x6J. Might be worth going to the Alfa forum and asking there: the 4 stud Alfa wheels (at least, the modern ones) are same PCD and centre bore.

fiat punto GT 14" wheels fits (but they r not 6j, if that what u r looking for), with suitable spacers .

centre bore is 58.1mm that point one is important, if people get their own spigots made up or wheels bored out they will crack when hot with out the .1mm

I know FIAT say 58.1, but Compo say 58. They don't crack or seize on, so I'm guessing the tolerance left by both is pretty generous.............
