Ah sorry can't claim the glory of that 1242 if you talking about the renamed "blue2" I believe that was done by "midland fiat" I owned the car for less than a month all I ever did was put some studlock on the stud conversion and put some new tyres on!

Pity, it really goes like stink (and has picked up Blue's bad habit of chasing BMWs).

I thought it was really slow tbh Kindda felt like any second it'll really pick up and go but it always left me waiting It did handle well though if not a little on the harsh side lol

Couldn't help but disapear into the distance in my Pug as well when the G/F was following in the Sei Tub

Funnily enough, I think the first thing Aaron asked me about the car was how it was running (you know, with that "oh dear, I'm not going to like the answer, why did I ask that" look on his face) I was able to tell him that all it needed was a good thrashing. Consider it thrashed: it will cheerfully do 110.......... Just as though it had been run on bad petrol or something.

Some of the harshness has gone on the Uniroyals, and it now doesn't tramline like a go kart.

Let's face it, under similar circumstances I could do the same on a moped!

What's the Pug, though?

OK...... this thread is about the evolution of my Turbo Cinq and the performance mods required to mange the associated power of the current and future developments for my daily use, if you want to talk about relativly simple thing like just engine mods 1242's etc then there are better posts to hijack than this

Brakes ok as these can be Applicable to everyone

Re: My Turbo Cinq Story

OK i have an offer at the minute i am struggling to resist. A friend of mine has offered me a Greddy Profec e-01 electronic boost controller. He bought it for his Nissan but it met an unfortunate end before it was fitted. it is brand new still in a cellophane wrapped box, and as he needs the cash being car-less i can have it for half the cost of new!!!!

This was well, well down the list of things to do but after doing some reading on this it really is the dogs and a lot more than just a boost controller with scope to do a lot lot more more such as cutting boost if the AFR reaches dangerous levels, RPM dependenant boost controlling data logging etc etc.

i can see more money leaving the bank here if someone doesn't stop me

Re: My Turbo Cinq Story

Go on, you know you want to! Can't they do launch control and in gear boost limits, too?

Even if you go for a full aftermarket ECU you can sell it on...........

Replied in other thread, but go for it, sounds brilliant and you will unleash some untold potential.

Re: My Turbo Cinq Story

These things do a lot more than i could possible know what to do with, but if it is linked up to an greddy e-manage it could replace the MF2 and run as a true piggyback ecu and control not only the 2nd injector but as it can take into account AFR and knock it can alter the boost and fueling with custom injector maps accordingly which is basically the bit that is missing in the MF2setup. It could even drive water/meathanol injection if you really wanted too

Basically it could do away with the need for a new standalone alltogether

Re: My Turbo Cinq Story

Yeah brilliant bits of kit.

Now that I am submerging myself in to the Celica and all things Japanese, very few Jap cars run standalone ECU's, they more often than not run a set up like you are suggesting, piggy back controller and EBC either separate or in a combined unit as it offers like you are now finding huge amount of options and allows the standard ECU to get on with controlling the more mundane stuff.

Its only the bigger power cars than seem to default to true standalone, and then its things like MoTeC.
