Re: My Turbo Cinq Story

I like it when you get parts ready to fit

You fitting the EBC yourself?

It's on my *to buy* list...

Re: My Turbo Cinq Story

well if they are genuine take care, don't make them anymore, i spoke to them a while back and they had damaged a mould and said it is uneconomical to replace it as they don't sell many i was after a set but i have a new plan now though

Re: My Turbo Cinq Story

On my genuine hormann narrow arches(and Matt's, Ghost's old cinq)..... the rear arches have a funny step in them, can just make them out below:

Re: My Turbo Cinq Story

Cool, hope you took some measurements of the bumper for exhaust before fitting as on the Abarth rear where the exhaust exits is in s slightly different place compared to normal bumper, Fiat actually cut the exhaust and fitted an Abarth extension piece in place to make it fit properly.

Wheel arches look similar to the Abarth wheel arch extensions you could buy with the kit from Lester, we had a set and never fitted them sold them on ebay to a guy in Ireland a while back.

Car is going to be brilliant.

You know what i even put the abarth rear in the car when it went for the exhaust fitting so they would get it right and do you know? they still put it in the wrong place so it's off back on Monday for them to put it right

The car the arches came from had it's kit collected from various places it had a very nice Hormann rear (that i very nearly bought) so they could be from anywhere but colour wise they are a good match and in perfect condition

Re: My Turbo Cinq Story

Let me know what difference the EBC makes then as the different boost settings appeal quite a bit..

One setting for the g/f to drive to work and one for me to drive at weekends

Re: My Turbo Cinq Story

I had an hour to spare today so got around to fitting the Abarth rear the exhaust is ~3mm off centre so still need a bit more of a tweek I will also get around to meshing the opening some time too

Also got a quick pick of the rear of the exhaust while i was at it, this is the only box on the system 'tis straight through and about the size of a big bike can which err might account for the nice noise

Re: My Turbo Cinq Story

Yellow Turbo Cinq Abarth... very yummy

Is it jacked up in that first picture because the rear looks a tad higher than I remember?

Re: My Turbo Cinq Story

Little bit of an update

Lots of soldering later and the Greddy Profec E-01 EBC is installed and working, It still needs some fine tuning as I can't use the boost offset at the moment as I haven't connected the engine RPM input yet but it is working great as a normal EBC and has smoothed the power delivery. It also gives 3 configurable boost settings low/high/overboost so I can tweak the power up and down at the press of a button. I've also found a nice place to mount the screen and will grab some pics when I can find the camera.

I have also fitted in the wideband lambda and LC1 today and plumbed it into the E-01 so the AFR is now being displayed on the E-01 screen along with the Boost. It was quite reasuring to see that the AFR is spot on across the whole boost range with no sign of it going lean so i can sleep a bit easier now. I've also followed Arc's example and mounted the Calibration switch and LED in the cabin but in a different position of course, again photo's to follow

So all in all quite a satisfying couple of days work.
