 Bleeping noise??? Hi guys, I have a 1998 cinq sporting and havent had any problems until yesterday when some total numpty in an astra reversed into my front passenger side really slowly and rocked the buggy. tbh there didn't look anything wrong at the time.... no dents etc. but after 10hrs at work, i started her up to be greeted with 10 beeps and had the same thing this morning. Strange thing is though... car seems to be running as normal apart from this beeping. If its any help, it beeps about 30secs to a minute after i start the car, from the front, souding like its coming from somewhere in the dash any suggestions?!

| Re: Bleeping noise??? dont have one, haven't had chance go fit one. weirdest thing is... last night when i left work to go to work (split shifts... damn things) it beeped, when i left work this morning it beeped but when i went out this afternoon it didnt... and feels just fine whilst driving, idling, everything. my uncles a mechanic and when i explained i to him over the phone it confused the balls out of him too. should it beep at all when you get a knock? i know theres an auto fuel cutoff or something but surely if it was that the car wouldnt have started to begin with would it?

| Re: Bleeping noise??? ok... the story continues, its gone about 2 days without beeping... and now the bloody thing started again. this time it waited til i was about 10 minutes up the road after leaving work. any suggestions guys??? just for info, it beeps 10 times in succession, whilst the cars moving, or just after i start up and seems to be coming from the dash somewhere but i cant pinpoint whereabouts. any chance there should be some sort of light that ought to accompany it or something cause i'm on the train of thought it could have something to do with the ecu. any help much appreciated. cheers

| custodian of imola blue | Re: Bleeping noise??? The only thing in the standard car that bleeps is/are the indicators and hazard. Which put me to thinking of a -- possible -- alarm install. I wonder if someone fitted an alarm and part removed it? Only thing I have which bleeps is my navigator, and then, only when it's in my pocket!
