| oil breather smoking and smoke when remove oil cap any deffinative reasons this would be happening^^ im thinking rings are starting to wear or worse, have mayo in cap aswell though so a tad confused at the mo if its hg aswell any ideas?

| mad bad and very very old | Re: oil breather smoking and smoke when remove oil cap OK, don't panic. Let it warm up fully in its own time then take it for a run. The engine will be full of condensation. Change the oil and filter. Review after several runs. Cheers D

If not, there is a chance that the old stuff has picked up moisture which the engine is trying to evaporate: the only place it can go is out the breather (unless you remove the cap). Ha! Beaten by Rallycinq! (Again)

| I Need Beer | Re: oil breather smoking and smoke when remove oil cap This cold weather is a bugger as well, my car hasn't used a drop of coolant in the last 1000 miles but you wouldn't believe the amount of water i'm getting out of catch tank especially when it's doing short runs (no mayo in the cap though) it can only be condensation.
