Re: Blu's Turbo Re-shell Thread

to do my sun roof drainholes i ended up taking the headliner off, you can then take rubber tubes off the car, they are just pushed on a small metal tube so come off and go on easy enough. Mine were only blocked at top with glass from an old sunroof it looked like. You could even just go buyt some new bits of rubber pipe if they are proper blocked, not fancy stuff.

Re: Blu's Turbo Re-shell Thread

Right new engine mounts are ordered, Should be here on thursday. The sun is shining, can't wait to get this done now and go for a cruise.

Had a quick stab at euro'ing an arch on the old shell, pic below.. Only spent bout 20mins on it and think it went well, or would be good if finished, think i may have to do this on the new shell when its all up and running again.

Re: Blu's Turbo Re-shell Thread

that was well easy, the bit at the front where it meets the front bumper looks a bit tricky (didn't do that bit) but east enough really, i've never tried anything like it personally but i'd imagine its the time you spend with filler and getting it perfectly smooth that will make or beak the job. Having done that though, i can tell it wouldn't take a body shop long to do so if your not keen then you could go get a quote, sure it wouldn't be excessive.

Re: Blu's Turbo Re-shell Thread

I dunno if its been done before but was thinking today about swapping the cable clutch for a hydraulic one like found in a punto.. I've had a look around but can't find anyting on the topic.

just like to open the idea for discussion really, what do people think? Any reasons you know why i should or shouldn't or any know problems trhat might arise..

Re: Blu's Turbo Re-shell Thread

i think it's been talked about before, but never seen it done. Possible issues.. erm, space round the pedal box for the piston / hydraulic pedal.

ive not really looked too much into it myself - have a look at a punto and give it a go

Re: Blu's Turbo Re-shell Thread

It looks like its coming along nicely, the old shell doesn't look bad tho, maybe a daft question, but why are you changing them?

Re: Blu's Turbo Re-shell Thread

Not too sure, but looking at his car in real life, he must have done **** loads to it .... the even scarier thing is, he lets his daughter compete in it !!!!!
