Unhappy Lost my only key

I lost the only key for my cinqucento from 96.
I am very bad with cars and do not wish to get all hands on.. if at all possible.

It was a blue key. And I never received any other key. Car is working fine.
But we are locked out.

What are my possibilities??

Everything might be helpful.

Re: Lost my only key

this will need to be moved, as it's not a guide!

As for your situation, is the car a 900 or a sporting?

Re: Lost my only key

What I would personally do.

Goto a scrap yard that has a cinq of the same model. Buy the following bits
  • 1x rear quater window
  • 2x door locks, 1x boot lock, 1x ignition barrel lock FROM THE SAME CAR WITH KEY.
  • 1x ECU + code box from the same car as locks
Go home. Smash the rear quater, unlock the car, fit new window, then set about changing the barrels in the locks and the ecu. Everything will now work off the new key. Get it copied!

Alternativly you can keep your current ECU but you will need to buy a mchrich performance chip that disables the imobiliser. Probably cost about the same as a second hand ECU anyway.

Replacing the lock barrels is easy enough. boot is simply a few bolts. door are a little trickier as you have to remove the interior door panels to get at the rear of the handle and then remove that etc. Not a bad job though. Ignition is a little trickier still but im sure someone will be able to tell you exactly how to swap it. Ive never done it.

Other than that, see if a good lock smiths can make you a new key from the lock barrel itself. Then get a decoded ecu or a mckrich chip that disables the imobiliser, that way you wont have to change any of the locks but it might cost alot at the lock smiths. It wont cost you anywhere near 1000 euros though. More like 100, even with buying all of the new locks and ecu.

Re: Lost my only key

would be a different case if it is a 899, then it would be much easier, as there are no red or blue key and no codes.

Yes a lock smith will able to do you another key, as i done it to my honda, cost £50 quid to get a key made up from the barrels.

.
IIRC you can take door handles off with inner panel on. Tricky but do-able...

That's not right - it goes off age not trim level. The CODE system was introduced across the range in 1995 IIRC.
