clutch cable AGAIN!!

i replaced my clutch cable in march and today it went again! went to fiat to complain at how crap these cables are, they said they'd replace it and fit it under their part's warranty! but 2 hour's later i get a phone call to say the cable snapped because the pivot link (the white plastic triangle part the cable fix's on to) and the bush that the pivot is fixed on to were worn!!!! they said because of the excessive play in the link it put extra strain on the cable link and that's why it snapped????

anybody else had this??

Sorry, but Fiat are right.

Just taken the 'box off the turbo today, clutch spring was badly worn and pivot bearings were all but seized onto the shaft. Makes the pedal heavy and snaps the cables.

Clutch arm was so hard to move that I needed a spanner to move it.

Pete.

A good garage should do it in 2-3 hrs.

A mechanic mate says he can do one on a FIRE unit in 1h30. Id love to see him do my Cinqs!!

i got a family friend who does all our cars that will do it, its good being a student cause i use the 'student loan hasnt arrived' line all the time.

he hasnt charged labour for any off the clutch cables that he has fitted for me, its a quick job for him.

so what are the options that i can take, i.e, new clutch, etc...
