| Re: Clutch replacement i just really need to know things like:- -Were the hell is the start motor and does it need to come off? -is there an easier way to get the ball joints off, instead of just banging the crap out of them? -which plug on the bottom of the gearbox is the best to get the gearbox oil out off? -where do i fill it back up? -is there an easy way to get the gear linkages off instead of the hammer way (i got the top one off lol)? -is that dodgy looking sump going to be able to hold the weight of the engine, (and gearbox if needed to)? at the mo meant it just seems like me and my hammer are getting no where Thanks loads Tom.H

| ' | Re: Clutch replacement ITs all here if you search. Starter motor at rear of box at top , has to come off. You can unbolt the wishbones, and get the driveshafts out without breaking ball joints if your careful. Drain is by the rear mount. Filler is halfway up on the front. I just slipped an appopriate sized spanner uner the linkage joints and levered them off in seconds. Sump will take the weight. I used a block of wood to spread the load. Kristian

| Re: Clutch replacement To remove a stubborn ball joint here's a method I've use on various cars: Jack & support the car / Remove the road-wheel / Place scissor jack under the Disc and raise it (this prevents the strut from absorbing the shock of the hammer blows) / Undo the ball joint nut but not fully (this protects the threads on the ball joint) / Whack the nut and it usually comes off very easily / When refitting use a new nut

| mad bad and very very old | Re: Clutch replacement I would never hit the top of any ball joint unless it was being scrapped. Smote the side of the wishbone to shock it free. Cheers D
