ECU and immobilisers

Hmm *Strokes Chin Thinking*

Im doing a 1242cc transplant soon, and Im thinking abourt the ECU. I have a Punto 60 ECU (16FE3) sat here with me, but seen as I stole it (Wasnt going to pay thru the teeth!:D) I have no idea whether the car was immobilized (I assume it was)

I think that the codebox thing (the sensor decoding electronics) are seperate to the ECU (I read it somewhere), and if the Key code is correct this sends an OK signal to the ECU. If this is so, an ECU swap would be a piece of proverbial.

Can anyone confirm my thoughts?

95 Cinq Sporting - Rattly GrpN Catback Exhaust, Buckets and 3pt Harnesses,Sexy VW styleé dials (that look great, but dont work!! (:D)), 10" Sub and 6x9's, ETech Wing. Lots of Dirt!
1242cc Engine to go in soon, boot delock soon, K+N still in garage!
