Worrying Problem -Wheel Bolts coming loose

As above, my GF has a 51 plate seicento sporting, since having the N/S front tyre changed last week the wheel bolts keep coming loose, what could be the problem? (I saw the bloke tighten with a gun part way and then wrench them tight by hand so i can see how he has overtightened etc)

Am i in store for a new hub?

Cheers

Over tightening a wheel nut to the point of stripping the thread is, apparently, rather hard, however to cross the bolt/hub flange thread is a damn sight easier especiallly with unskilled use of a impact wrench. Check the threads of the bolts and hub flange for signs of cross threading, I've had a garage wreck hub flanges by using a pneumatic impact wrench on the bolts.
