Hi can anybody tell me what the warning light on the dash in the shape of an injection unit mean when it comes on, it has come on a few times since i have changed the oil and fitted an air filter as when i brought it, it did not have an air filter at all!
it initially seemed to come on when turning sharply i.e. doing a u turn then some times when you excelarate from a stop and whenether it pleases now i have just excelerated hard upto 95 and it seemed fine so i am clueless!!
Any help would be great!!!
it is for a 899cc sx 1993
Thanks to everyone Helicopter_red [:0]

does it also look like a very wierd carrot, i think it has something to do with the catalyic convertor, have u noticed any changes in the way it drives.

the most common cause for this light to come on is due to the lamda sensor being knackered.

the lamda sensor is used to tell the ECU what mixture off fuel, air, etc... to use in order to make the car perform at ts optimal level

it means an errors been detected by the fuel injection control unit and and error code is stored in its memory, it could be anything.
get it down a garage too read the error code.

Hmm..does it affect the running at all?

Could just be a wiring connector coming loose or even fuel getting into the MAP Line - The thin plastic tube running from the front of the engine to a block at the back RHS (When looking at it from the front of the car) Disconnect that at both ends and give it a blow. If there's fuel in it, blow it out! If it happens again, check that first. Yu can get a part from Fiat for abt £3 that solves that!
