hey guys today im going to take my seats apart and wash the covers in the machine. I will take photos of how to do it and if i get enough yeah's during the day i will write a guide on how to do it. beleive it or not i can be done in a matter of hours and refitted by the end of the day. i dont want to write a guide if nobody will use it so what do you all say ?

i wouldnt mind knowing how to do this as my passanger seat hasnt been the same since my sunroof leaked :bang:

yeah that would be awesome as my car is mint inside just want to wash the seats, and it beats paying valeters 30 to shampoo everything , i can use the 30 to buy cleaning products or to wards the window tint :D

I see someone else was going to do it before I did, anyway it's up now, I'm just adding to this post in case anyone finds it via the search facility.

can the seats even be taken apart? tbh i scrubbed mine with a brush and a warm bucket of water with daz, lenor, vanish mixed into it and it brought the seats up like brand new, i thought the seats were sewed shut or something like that???

although im interested as my drivers seat has snapped from the headrest to 1/4 down the main body of the seat, really annoying and wont do wonders if im in a crash:rolleyes: if i can dismantle the seat i could get it welded up and refit it all?

cheers

sam

Yes, sorry I didn't explain myself very well, a guide is up, and yes you will be able to weld your seat no problem.

The only reason I didn't try the 'daz and a bucket' approach was I thought once the foam got wet it wouldn't dry out too easily; however based on I've just read that seems like a good way for the not too badly soiled seat.

first off... excellent guide! thanks a lot!(y):)

i went for the daz and bucket approach as i was told the seat covers might shrink with washing and make them impossible to refit, and i thought the seats were sewn/stapled shut

i still have the problem of a snapped top 1/3 of my sei abarth seat, ill get a cinq seat, fit that in for a while and repair my old seat in my spare time, are the plastic clips off the cover removeable? id like to machine wash the cover, they are very clean but i think i could get them even cleaner

and you are right about cleaning them with a bucket of soapy water and a brush. main problem is drying them out, also i had to keep rinsing and saturate the seat as every time i applied pressure, the foam pushed more dirty water through the covers

have you done the back seats? how easy are they? to be honest i want to remove my back seat, get the seat fabric/foam off, drill and tap the metal to bolt an amp to the back of it.

bit miffed that i threw my old cinq seats out now, would have come in handy lol

sam:)
