Eventually i want to have a 1242 put into my cinq, but thats a while off (maybe next summer). I've been looking at remaps at the moment.

So far i've looked at angel tuning, 10bhp and £255. Superchip, 5bhp and around £300. Starchip, 15bhp (!) but i cant find a cost.

I think superchip can be crossed off the list. So its between starchip and angel. I know angel tuning are kinda connected to the board, and i know i can trust them. Starchip on the other hand i know nothing about. Has anyone got one of their remaps and can confirm 15bhp extra?

I'm guessing with starchip they just send you the chip and you fit it yourself, ive got no prolem doing that at all - but it suggests its a rather generic map. Would i be right in thinking the angel tuning remap is fitted for you, and a few things tweeked depending on the car, or does it not matter on such low output engines?

Also, with me eventually swapping to the 1242, could i get a map for the 1242 and run it on my 1108? Or should i just leave remaping until i get the 1242?

You could probably go out and get a 1242 engine for nearly half the price of those chips - then eventually get a chip for a 1242??

Both are bloody good points - (except the insurance company would probably never now that there was either a chip OR a 1242 engine in there [8D])

A 15 bhp increase on a N/A 54 bhp engine? Thats over 25%! TBH, I think thats a bit on the optimistic side. Theres not much scope for big bhp increse in N/A chiptuning nowadays... at least not on near standard engines.
