Hi,im wanting me cinq to be and look like a race/rally car:rolleyes: :D so im wanting a Battery cut off switch im me center console under two gauges.

How would i wire it up.i though i could wire it from the battery terminal---switch---then the rest of the wires than usually go to the terminal...but wont the ECU reset every time i remove the key from the switch??

How could i get round this??? i suppose on a race car it would cut out the power to everything but...well i still want a little bit of practibility out of if.The girlfriend already hates the harnesses and all the little rattles from the stripped out interia.
Also hoping to get some Carbon fibre sheet to make some doorcard out of:yum: :yum: got ally ones in the back

Cheers Tom

Put it in the main starter cable leaving the battery connected to the rest of the car. It won't act as a cut out out, but it will stop anyone starting it without the key. You would need to put the alternator feed onto the live side just in case it was turned while the engine was running.

Its actually a bit of a sod to wire up correctly because of the permanent live feed in the Cinq ignition for the parking lights.

Cheers

you mean the positive wire to the coil?

i did something like this years ago, on my cavalier. but hidden the switch, so it basically acted as an imobiliser.

nah, if its there, its got to be working. otherwise just looks cheap and tacky. like having spinning will trims, lol. no offence, just my opinion.

I agree with that, its gotta be functional or its completely pointless and silly, that does not however mean it has to be a battery cut-off, you make it to do anything.

why not install it, but dont wire it up? you still get the same look!!

levemir: Naa i dont want to do that, poinless in my opinion

I already have a starter button thats semi hidden(fooled me mates garage for a while whilst i was laughing at them:D )

The fuel pump, starter motor cut off is a good idea, just hope no-one fiddles with it and pulls the key whilst im driving

ladinnotts: i dont want to hide it.i want looks as well as a use

I think i might go for a fuel cut off, even tho there the inertia one somewhere. as well as some other electrical stuff
