right. quick question. im thinking of changin my sparks and ignition leads as ive heard it helps the engine run smoother and acceleration is enchanced slightly. plus the OE ones on my car at the mo look a bit battered and old. so i found a set of elads on demon tweeks the blue magnecor ones. im ust wondering what sparks to buy. and is it an easy job to do.

i know i have to match up the right lead with the right plug as the 1,2,3,4 numbering inscribed on the coil pack holder. i ws just wondering about the spark plugs. cos they ahve to be torqued dont they?? and do i ahve to take anything off to get to them properly. do i have to drain any fluid etc etc. thos type of questions lol. so can any1 help?:)

i have a seicento MPI by the way. lol.

*cough* (looks at sig) *cough*

Seriously though, there are only a few for the mpi that are "uprated", the iridium ones, and the 4 pronged ones.

The four pronged ones last longer that stock ones as it can use the strongest of the 4 shorts to earth, the iridium ones, not sure what makes them better.

TBH, I didn't really notice much of a difference between OEM and iridium however starting was better, and economy improved a bit. With regards to more power, I couldn't feel any, but I'm not a rolling road lol

Still a worthwhile upgrade though :)

I run magnecores and they really looks and feel the part....a quality lead (y)

think i may purcase the iridium ones off of you ktrip. seems beter purchasing from someone off here. but thas a maybe. lol. and ill get the magnecor leads then.

so second question. is it simple enough to do??

ah my dad said hed do it for me and show me how. thats one thing ive never done with cars is sparks. strange really. seems one of the fundemental things to do. anyway one more question. would it be a better plan to change the spakrs and elads at the same time. or can i just put the elads on and wait for new sparkys???

How odd - I was just about to post a similar thread... Hijack time! lol sorry...

Just changed my spark plugs for some bosch super 4's, and noticed that leads 1 & 2 (working from right to left) are totally knackered, and are barely staying on the plugs :(

Bearing in mind I have an 899 cinq, is there anywhere anyone could recommend I get my hands on some new HT leads (preferably in red ;) )

?

For £35 you can have the red Magnecor ones from here

Look lovely - but reading the description it sounds like they may be overrated for my engine / driving ?

Blue ones look tasty though :)

Thanks for the link mate - big help.

Anyone got links for anything lower than £35.88 inc vat?
;)
