The dial which controls the heat settings is no longer attached to anything on my wife's new sporting. I have taken off the heater facia and there is just a plastic cog turning in empty space. I assume there is a mechanical cable leading to the 'cock' which has become disconnected, similar to the one connected to the back of the fan control dial - funny thing is when I shine a torch in there and look around, why can't I see it lying around?? Does anyone know what I should be looking for? Thanks.

No one knows? I need a Haynes manual...
