Right, i'm haveing a few initial problems with the cinq after picking it up today.

1: Rear Clonking
Theres a loud clonk every so often when driving. Usually when you go over little bumps in the road. It also makes wierd noises under hardish accelleration. As mention in my members motor thread, it could be the rear suspension bushes? Which ones are they? Are there any other things it could be? (the exhaust at the back looks different and doesnt sit centrally, so could that be hitting something too?)

2: Runs hot alot
When the engine gets up to temperature, it doesnt really cool down. The fan kicks in so it doesnt overheat, but even when cruising on the motorway gently (60mph) it still runs at the same temperature. Could this be the radiator being mucky, bad coolant (looks merky)? Also its abarth kitted, so that may not help matters much?

3: Petrol Guage
When going around corners (not that fast either) does your needle drop down? Mine goes from half to the fuel warning light with little effort. The uno did this, but no-where near as bad.

Think that was all the niggling things that need to get sorted that im unsure of :)

1 > (editted this cos i changed my mind) Could be the exhaust hitting the trailing arm, could be bushes. Is it a thump, or a hollow knock. Bushes tend to knock. Where do your weird noises come from? The rear.. or front as well?

2 > They run warm, 80-90 on the motorway is what mine does. Don't worry too much about it. Unless you're seeing 100+. the abarth front apron restricts airflow to the rad..

3 > Perfectly normal, its a cento feature.

Yes as arc says this is normal. I gained a 1/4 of a tank going uphill yesterday and lost it all promptly on the M62! The moral is...it is still starting :D

Luke check the condition of the radiator, mines is goosed and is causing it to sit near the 100 on the motorway if I turn off the blowers.

Custards turbo sat at 70-80 on a reasonably warn day with a mixture of driving and he changed his rad not long after he got the Turbo.

Drain the coolant and back-flush the system. That'll clear out any muck that might be causing a blockage.
