Hi, I am in the process of fitting a remote start to my sei. Ive got it to work but when the engine turns over, without the key in the ignition barrel it fails to start. Is there any way where the key code can be bypassed for my remote system to work?

Cheers :D

You will need to have a chip near the ring that operates the immobiliser. The ring is removable from the steering lock so you could move the ring and leave a chipped key head in the same place. Obviously you then have no immobiliser, unless you take the key head out.

Cheers

I had 2 extra spare keys cut and coded the other day, so i will use one of them. Cheers for the help

i found removing the chip from your red key is easiest as it splits in 2 then just remove the glass tube chip and tape to the ignition ring

Well in the immobilizer control memory in the ECU, theres a bit called "backdoor" that can be activated and I presume that allows the Immobilzer to be deactivated.

Theres also a bit in the same memory that signifies that the ECU has been sent a "universal" key code, which is the same as uncoding the ECU.

The ECU itself cannot not use the immobilizer, once its set to use it, it has to use it (its burnt into permanent memory)

Hope this helps...doubtful it will though! :D
