Smokey and they'll ban it!

Right, after owning my new cinq for a matter of 4 weeks, i' thought i'd give the engine the ol' Redex treatment. At about 2PM i took the airbox off and letting some small doses of the stuff settle through the throttle body, i started the engine, (laughing at the big cloud of white/blue smoke that made the street look like a fog cloud in a quasar game) waited 5 mins for the redex to burn off and do it's stuff then stopped the engine once there was no trace of smoke from the exhaust.
10 mins later, i took the car for a drive and managed to engulf the cars behind me with a thick blue smoke (which i can only think is oil burning off) which lasted for about a mile. When i got back home, the smoke wasn't as bad but still emerging in smaller quantities (i.e. no fog as before). I'm now beginning to panic cos i think i may have damaged something and now think there is oil burning off. It's still doing it after coming home about 10pm (8 hours after the treatment, so there should be no traces of the redex by now).

Please help!![xx(]

Thrash the pants off it for a bit, no need to put it into the red - just go hard. See if it settles down after that.

Pete.
